Dushyant, You should certainly look at the ranking for aerospace-related programs, but I think your focus at this stage should be on identifying a good and affordable program. If you want to transfer to another program, you can do so once you arrive here. BTW, I am assuming that by now you have recieved your visa and are in the process of preparing to come to the U.S.

Thanks for ur help sir. I was wondering that I didnot apply to schools such as Purdue , University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, University of Illinois.Do u think if need to transfer I should apply to these universities though UIUC is extremely expensive.Do u think Umich has a better program than CU coz I was just going through a website where it was written that Umich Aerospace is good for aeronautics part but not the astronautics part. Do u feel its true?

Dushyant, On-campus housing should not be an important factor in decision-making as off-campus housing is usually cheaper and better.

You are correct that campuses with a good-sized Indian population are more attractive for Indian students. This is because you can have more access to Indian food, Indian stores, and Indian friends on those campuses, which helps in not feeling homesick.
UCB is certainly a good school in Aerospace and is located in a beautiful small town, while Ohio State is a good school overall. In the end it is your decision which way to go. At this stage, if you are selecting between the two, my suggestion is to compare the costs. If there is considerable difference, go for the cheaper option.
Ranking does influence decision-making, but generally not as much as students think, especially at the undergraduate level.
Let me know if you have more questions.

Also, sir, would ranking play any part in decidind the quality of program at a university?

Hello Sir!
I also googled for Top 20 schools for aerospace engineering and I found that University of Colorado, Boulder is ranked 11th in that. Secondly , they have produced 8 astronauts which no other university has. Then, they r also working for the Hubble telescope of NASA. But most people rate Ohio State better than it. Is it because of the rankings or the overall university campus and quality of education? And should I take into account the Indian population on the campus like Ohio State has a very large population. So, does that make an obligation for a new student like me to be with them for most of the time ? Virginia tech offers Aerospace with concentration of Ocean engineering . Would that prove to be a benefit for me? Penn State is providing me on campus housing on Greater Alleghany campus.Plzzzzzzz, reply soon. Also,
Thank you.

With regards
Dushyant

Hello Sir! Dushyant here. I got into Virginia Tech as well. Is it good for aerospace?

Thanks 4 replying. Sir, though Penn State may be good, but there is a problem that they have offered me Harrisburg as the campus and there the on campus housing is already occupied. They say I have to search for off campus hpusing. Still, if I go by the program, which do u believe has d best aerospace eng. department. I have heard that Ohio State and Univ. Of Colorado are both vey good. Reply soon. Thank you.

Abhishek, the email is missouri.edu. Just FYI, Srihari is now a highly accomplished PhD candidate at University of Missouri, he is a former student of the masters in Engineering Management program of Rolla.
